CBTU Boston Hosts Third Annual MLK Day Celebration Brunch

On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Boston Chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) proudly hosted its Third Annual MLK Day Celebration Brunch at the IUPAT District Council 35 Union Hall in Roslindale, MA. This impactful event brought together union members, community leaders, and advocates to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through reflection, connection, and celebration.

Event Highlights The brunch served as a powerful platform to celebrate Dr. King’s vision of justice, equality, and economic empowerment. Attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet-style meal provided by Every Body’s Gotta Eat (EBGE) while engaging with a diverse group of professionals, including school bus drivers, painters, glaziers, insulators, MBTA workers, teachers, and community organizers.

The celebration featured inspiring speeches and thought-provoking discussions, allowing attendees to reflect on Dr. King’s unwavering commitment to anti-racist unionism and grassroots organizing.
